In September 2022, ADPE began a transformative education partnership with TVET School Karama (ETP Karama) in Ruhashya Sector, Huye District — offering a second chance to young people who had dropped out of school or struggled with substance abuse and behavioral challenges.
Vocational and technical education has proven to be one of the most powerful tools for youth reintegration. Students gain practical skills in carpentry, tailoring, information technology, and more — skills that directly translate into employment and self-reliance.
“We do not give up on any young person,” said ADPE Deputy Representative Jean Bosco RUHITAMO. “Every child deserves the chance to discover what they are capable of, regardless of their past.”
ADPE’s education promotion work at TVET Karama is part of its broader mission of reintegration for vulnerable groups, reaching youth who face the greatest barriers to a stable future.
ADPE is actively seeking local and international partners to expand this programme and support more young people across the Southern Province.
